Ok, so it’s not the fastest way to lose weight. And frankly, I should be doing more (and different things).
So far, since I started running, my weight is down roughly 15 pounds (from about 208 to 194). I am pleased, but there are still things I need to do
I still need to cut out nighttime snacking. While I have cut down on the amount, it’s still not enough. When you eat something at 10 PM then go to bed an hour or two later, well, what can you expect 🙂
On the PLUS side, I am eating BETTER foods during the course of the day. Fat burning foods, like chicken, rice, oatmeal, etc. does help. I am still learning a lot there, but my friends Obi and Jonathan’s new product – Accelerate Your Fat Loss – goes through some great fat loss foods AND exercises. You should check this one out…
Anyway, yesterday on my run I increased my distance to 7 miles. I will be honest… this is something I NEVER thought possible. Considering my past history with running and the time frame. I have gone from ABOUT a mile to 7 miles (and increasing since mid May of 2011 to now – 3 months).
I was invited to participate in a half marathon up in Rhode Island this October and I just may go. I still have about 2 months to train. Frankly, I now have the confidence that I can actually finish the run when I complete my training.
I will post my progress as well as the race results as we go along. I hope this serves as inspiration for anyone who wants to do something like this but thinks they can’t. I am here to tell you that you CAN.
